in the beginning...
Aug. 7th, 2002 09:41 pmthere is always a beginning -- and since I just got here, this must be mine. morganlf made it happen -- thank you love!
work today was interesting -- I spent some time looking at Wippit, a supposedly secure P2P filesharing tool... it's not all it's cracked up to be, as a little bit of network sniffing shows. The encryption/authentication all seems to be above board, but there's not much that's really P2P about it. Anyways, I can't go into details, but if anyone has much luck with this system let me know. The other kicker is that it costs $50/year to use. however, they do have a couple of albums from Great Big Sea, one of my favorite bands.... I recommend Mari-Mac and The Night that Patty Murphy Died to anyone who is a GBS virgin....
other than that, I went to dinner with shane, and we looked around for apartments for him a bit. It'd be really cool if he can end up somewhere close.
now I need to go work on preparing material for game on Saturday -- day 1 of my Dragonlance game... and bridge the wireless network with an old laptop, and look into rigging the TiVo to be on the wireless net, and decide if I want to take a medieval english lit class or "medieval paris: 500-1500"... any advice? anyone? anyone? bueller?
boing.
