May. 26th, 2003 11:32 amThere's very little in this world sadder than a failed Foster's run. Okay, that's not quite true, but at midnight last night, that's how it felt! After going to Ontario Mills to catch a 10pm showing of 'A Mighty Wind'--which
morganlf and I both loved--we decided to drive over to Foster's for a maple bar and a lemon filled.....Mmmm. We arrived at Foster's (aka Donut Man) a little before midnight--seeing such familiar sights as the Golden Spur(m) and Compromise Ln. Arriving at Foster's, out faces fell seeing the darkened interior. What gives? Foster's is never closed!
Not true, apparently. There was a big sign in the widow saying they will reopen Monday at 6pm. *sigh*
We satisfied our donut cravings with Kripsy Kreme maple ringed and lemon filled--having to return to Ontario Mills--but it just Wasn't The Same.
Anyway. The weekend is going extremely well--I'm looking forward to a little backyard grilling with some fine folks who hopefully will show up this afternoon! Off to Ralphs to get supplies and see what's left on the shelves...
Our pictures from our Mt. Rubidoux hike are here. They aren't annotated yet, but I'll some better software soon...
