triumphant tire fixin' goodness
Apr. 25th, 2004 12:13 pmAfter exploring the back of
morganlf's car, we successfully found the spare and the jack and managed to get the tire changed without too much misadventure--and then drove it over to Just Tires to get the flat fixed. Audi graded while I read at the Starbuck's across the street until the tire was ready... I picked up McCaffrey's latest at the SF Book Club a few weeks back--it's not great literature, but it's amusing. I do need to get back to reading better books though--I've got Eco's Baudolino as well as Chabon's The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay waiting for me on the bookshelf. I've also been wanting to pick up a couple of books Salon has featured--The Time Traveler's Wife and The Body: A Novel for summer reading. T-Minus 8 weeks until I leave for Portland. Ulp.

I'm nervous about going to work for a new company for the summer--huge butterflies. Plus, I really don't like the thought of being so far from morganlf... *sigh* However, it's a job, so I can't complain. Now to figure out housing. I found a potential living situation--$325/mo for a furnished room including utilities, but now that two other labmates are going to Hillsboro as well, it may just make sense to get a 3 BR house for the summer. That certainly would be fun at least.
