It just made perfect sense to me that in a world where everyone can teleport and port keys exist, that that sword can always be pulled from that hat. I found it amusing that the goblin betrayed Harry and got nothing worthwhile from the process.
You're right, Harry should have been at least a little curious, but he probably learned that in the interveening 19 years. :)

Date: 2007-07-25 11:00 am (UTC)...I agree it was confusing. I definitely had a moment of "how did he get that from the goblins?!?" I think Rowling lays the groundwork for everything she does, but sometimes expects a little too much of our detail memory, after seven books and a decade.
