morganlf surprised me Wednesday night and I got her for a long weekend! We saw the Matrix Reloaded Thursday night at the Village Theatre in Westwood--that theatre is so awesome. Some of our friends had not been to a movie there before and were impressed. I really enjoyed the movie itself--even more now that I've had a chance to think about it a bit. I want to see it again soon. No spoilers here until it's fairly safe to talk about...
Friday night was pretty low-key--we grilled some chicken breasts and made chicken sate with Trader Joe's thai peanut sauce and had garlic and ginger asparagus on the side. Mmm... more grilling fun was to be had, and we grilled some steaks and more chicken breasts to be used for BBQ later. On Saturday, Alison took me to see Dar Williams performing at the Ford Amphitheatre up in the Hollywood Hills. Oh my god. The venue was amazingly beautiful, and Dar was terrific. We both loved it--Alison's face when Dar started playing was wonderful.
On Sunday we had the next Dragonlance installment, and ate an ad-hoc turkey dinner with all the fixings at Scott's place. The party retrieved their new cleric (played by fallowpastures) who fit in very well with the group. They reached Icewall by the end of the session, after a run-in with a party of Thanoi and their trained dire ice bear.... :)
