The current CNN headline is "Thousands Flee Frances"--I misread this as "Thousands Flee France." I guess the RNC is getting to me--I thought for instant perhaps we had decided to move the war on terror and preemptively invade France, to wipe out the vicious source of fashion, crepes, and weapons of mass destruction.

EDIT: This was not intended to make light of Hurricane Frances. My thoughts are with those fleeing their homes in the face of the coming devastation. It will be all the more tragic if Frances does substantial damage at the Kennedy Space Center--potentially shutting down the shuttle program.

You don't read enough slashdot: 'If there were serious damage to one or two of the orbiters or the facilities needed to process and launch the orbiters, I think it would raise a very large question about the continuation of the shuttle program.'

I don't read any Slashdot anymore. They failed to have more than 2 posts per day that I found relevant or interesting for a period of several months. I used to read Wired too, but then Declan got a job elsewhere and I get his news by email anyway. :D

Yeah, I also get a totally different read off of "Thousands Flee Frances"... it's been weird listening to this week's weather reports on the radio during my commute.
