I haven't written in too long... in the last two weeks I've submitted an NSF proposal for a medium-sized project grant, and submitted a position paper to a workshop! It almost feels as if I'm being productive. That's a nice change... It'd be nice if I can actually advanced to candidacy sometime this spring. My topic is slowly coalescing--now all that remains is a concise research statement (on the order of 20-30 pages) and the oral prelims.
This weekend we playtested the Lord of the Rings RPG system, with Jason DMing. He ran an interesting adventure, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. The system was interesting--I really liked the ability to Parry blows...it made be feel as if I was playing a more active role in my characters defense. Anyway. Neither here nor there... I've got a one-shot in the works based around rumors of a Nazi installation in Antarctica. That'll be a nice change of pace from the d20 fare. White Wolf Vampires and Adventurers together in Antarctica! What will the Tremere think of next... =)
The twins decided to revamp the apartment yet *again*. It seems like every time I return from Riverside something else has been changed in the apartment. why, oh why?
the new bookshelves actually look fairly professional--they're not the color I would have chosen, but once they have books and DVDs on them, they'll look pretty decent.
anyway, I can't wait until
morganlf and I have a place together.... it will be nice to decorate and plan for an apartment that I know I'm going to be living in more than a few months!
