I'm now over on dreamwidth as well, as bellwether (with an e!) ... I'm still not sure what the point is though.

That's what I've been trying to ascertain: is there some reason that I need a dreamwidth account? I've got facebook and livejournal. Is it just new and shiny? Or, is there some reason I should bounce over there? I don't mind bouncing, but I'm just not sure what to make of this whole thing?

I think people are anticipating that it might be the next LJ if LJ continues its downward spiral so people are snatching up their usernames just in case.

Ah...that makes sense. Ok. Well, I don't have to worry about that. There always seem to be plenty of porfin variations, and I can continue my own personal trend of not being especially trendy with regards to new tech. I dreamwidth turns out to be really neat, let me know.
