Whoo!

It's been a week. Last night was fun, although it started off pretty awful. fallowpastures, morganlf and I went to Cabo Cantina on Wilshire for the 5C young alumni thing--the place is a disaster. However, we did hook up there with muddjester and Leslie, minorninth, bagoffarts at the bar--and then we all went back to the apartment. beefcake showed up, and it was an ad hoc party! It was good chatting and catching up with folks. Hopefully there will be more hanging out to follow--I really do need to hang out with more of the Claremont gang; it so good to see people!

The weekend was fun--on Sunday butigotahelmet came over and he and I were baking fools.... We made peanut butter cookies with chocolate kisses, oatmeal "snickerdoodles," and a super-fantastic Key Lime pie. Yummy..... I had never made Key Lime pie before, but damn, is it good! :)

Work continues on my prospectus today--but I also should get some code worked on. It's so hard to shift my focus between them.....

Sure! I'd really never had snickerdoodles before, and Alison said they were her favorite. So, I googled the recipe, and found this recipe. Shane and Alison say they're not snickerdoodles--but whatever, they were yummy! :)

Yeah, shifting focus is a bitch. I think I've finally finished up with the "tools development" portion of my work and now I actually need to focus on the data mining algorithms and building the important academic parts of the system. The last couple weeks have been pretty free of development/support stuff, for the first time in like a year or so.

I've played a lot of Diablo II lately. *grin*

Mmm.. D2. Haven't played in years, but I miss it. I hope a D3 is the offing sometime in the not-too-distant future.

I'm trying to get a handle currently on what the interesting problems are in my research and try to formulate those in an intelligent fashion. Then comes the hard part of proposing answers! :) I feel like I should be building as well--eclipse is crying out to me...
